Mistle Thrush

A large thrush distinguished from the Song Thrush by its size and white underwings. It has a grey-brown back with pale belly with large dark spots.

The Mistle Thrush sings a beautiful song often in rainy weather while sitting on the uppermost branches of a tree, and a loud rattling alarm call. This bird is resident in the UK, but has decreased in numbers lately.

Will feed on insects, worms and slugs but also berries. Seen around the bird table foraging on the ground.
